We do get a lot of questions about the services we provide as well as questions about tree service and care in general. For that reason, we have tried to put together a list of the most common questions below.
Why should I hire a company like Kerry's Tree Service instead of letting my gardener just prune or remove my trees?
Most gardeners do a great job when it comes to your yard maintenance, but lack the specific knowledge about pruning of trees. Kerry's Tree Service has 3 Certified Arborist on staff and are fully trained in proper pruning techniques, per the proper ANSI A300 Pruning Standards. Improper pruning of trees can cause stress on a tree which effects the overall health of the tree. When it comes to removing a tree, you need to make sure that you are protected from damage to your personal property. You should always hire a company that is fully licensed and insured incase of an unforeseen accident. Kerry's Tree Service, Inc is fully insured, licensed and is a proud member of the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), is a Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) through the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) and has three Certified Arborist on staff recognized by The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).
Why can't you give me a quote on a project if I just send you a picture?
Unfortunately, pictures do not always tell the whole story. There are a lot of factors that we need to take into consideration when quoting a project. How accessible is the tree? Is the tree overhanging a roof? Are there power lines near by? How much hardscape or personal property is in the proximity of the tree and is there risk of property damage? Can we get large equipment near the tree? How tall is the tree? It would make our job quoting a project a lot easier if we could do it from just a picture, but unfortunately we need to make sure our customers get a fair and complete quotation based on the entire scope of a project.
Are there certain times of the year when I should or shouldn't prune my trees?
Most trees can be pruned anytime during the year, but there are a few exceptions. As an example, certain Oak trees should only be pruned in the hotter summer months or in the winter when certain species of Oak Trees have gone dormant. Pine trees, on the other hand, are typically trimmed only in the colder months of winter to prevent the risk of beetle infestation or stress to the tree. If you have questions about the proper time of year to prune or trim your trees, give Kerry's Tree Service a call and speak to one of our Certified Arborist.
How will I receive my quotation and what do I do next?
Kerry's Tree Service emails out all of quotations, usually the same day as our estimator saw your project. There may be times where you get it the next day, but we try and get them to you as soon as possible. Once you receive the quotation, we ask that you review every line item to insure that we addressed the work you need performed. For quotations with multiple line items, we like you to initials each of the line items that you are authorizing us to proceed with. There may also be a need to get a "Neighbors Signature" which will allow us access to their property in order to remove any debris from your project that lands in their yard and needs to be cleaned up. At the end of each quotation is a line for you to sign and date. We need this to move forward with getting your project scheduled. Signed quotations can be emailed or faxed back to us in the office. To help speed up the process and get your job on the schedule, you can call our office and give us a verbal approval, but before we begin your project, we will need a signed copy of the quotation.
After I approve my quotation, how long before work can begin?
The time of the year really can dictate how soon we can get your job on the schedule. Our typical practice is first come first serve. In the seasonal slower months, jobs can get schedule within 1-2 weeks. If we are into the busy part of our season, jobs can take up to 3 weeks to get on the schedule. Other factors that may effect your job scheduling would be specific requirements of the customer, certain HOA requirements, street sweeping days, if permits are required for pruning or removal, and a variety of other situations. In all cases, we make every effort to insure that every job gets the utmost attention and every effort is made to get it scheduled as soon as possible.
What type of payments do you take?
